While some things have remained the same, others have changed. Founded by Barrington residents, today’s members reside in more than a dozen towns in Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts. We still know how to have fun! Today, with nearly 90 young-at-heart members on the club’s rolls, meetings remain lively and friendly. Our programs run the gamut of topics and interests— search and rescue dog demonstrations, an Elvis impersonator, an Audubon researcher who studies the decline of bird populations, the award-winning Atwater-Donnelly duo performing Celtic music, and a Narragansett Tribe member who described her tribe’s history and culture. Fashions shows have remained popular over the years. The shows, in collaboration with the Encore Consignment store, feature club members as models.
Together, in a supportive atmosphere, countless seeds of friendships have blossomed.
